John Kipp House

We are currently unable to take reservations due to hurricane Ike damage. Please check back often for updates.

The historic home of Kemah's founder John Henry Kipp was built in 1874. This waterfront home located in Kemah Texas offers a return to Kemah's tranquil past. Antique furnishings and replicas throughout the house provide a thoroughly nostalgic experience. The original wood paneled walls and hardwood floors are lined with works of art both new and old.

The house features a 200 foot pier with benches, lights, and an observation deck. Enjoy this beautifully designed pier for a relaxing afternoon or evening fishing for Flounder, Redfish, and Speckled Trout or simply relaxing. While fishing or relaxing, make sure you check the crab traps to see if the blue crab are running in the bay.

Each of the four spacious guest rooms feature king or queen size bed, private bath, cable TV, DVD, wireless Internet, and a balcony with a view of Galveston Bay. All bathrooms are updated and provide modern conveniences.

The spacious living room, dining room, and glass enclosed waterfront porch are a delightful setting for a party, meeting, wedding, or relaxing conversation.
